This card was originally a reduction wood block print and is ideal for any lover of folklore and Russian dolls.
 
What is Wood Block printing? A printmaking technique in which a wood block/sheet is used carved into to create a relief surface. A design is cut into the wood surface, along the grain of the wood with a sharp knife, V-shaped chisel or gouge. It is necessary only to ink the block and bring it into firm and even contact with the paper or cloth to achieve an acceptable print.
 
The card design process: I scanned my original prints and uploaded them to a card design website. They are printed on thick 340g/m2, a white matte card with a brown card effect.
